Transfer to City from Athens International Airport (AIA)
Athens International Airport (ATH) is located 20 km (12 miles) east of central Athens. Travelers have multiple options for reaching the city center, including public transport, taxis, and private transfers. More information can be found here: Travellers | AIA.
Metro (Line 3 – Blue Line)
Route: Airport → Syntagma (City Center) → Monastiraki → Other city stops. Please note that the Athens Megaron (the “Megaro Mousikis”) is on this line.
Duration: ~40 minutes to central Athens

Suburban Rail + Metro
Passengers leaving AIA on the Suburban Rail Line (which is located parallel to the Metro in the same station) can travel to Doukissis Plakentias Avenue and then transfer to the Metro Line 3 (the Blue Line), for a trip to Central Athens.

Two buses run directly from AIA to Constitution Square (Syntagma) and to The Hellenicon Metro Station:

X97: Airport to Elliniko Metro Station

Taxis: Available outside the Arrivals Area.
The taxis charge a flat fee to the centre of Athens: from 05:00 – 24:00 it is € 40 per ride, and from 24:00 – 05:00 (evening rate) it is € 55 per ride. This is irrespective of the number of passengers or baggage.
